The Clifton Water District was formed in the early 1950s to serve the growing community in and around the east end of the Grand Valley in western Colorado. The district constructed its original water treatment plant in 1978, which used conventional treatment technology. Over the years, the plant was upgraded to include nanofiltration and reverse-osmosis treatment trains, enhancing both treatment capacity and water quality. # This project repurposed the existing building and installed 12 million gallons per day of membrane-filtration capacity and ancillary membrane systems. Work also included bulk-chemical storage of several key compounds.
