Despite a survey released in January by the Conference Board, a business research group, that found that corporate leaders are worried about a looming global recession, Tievy is bullish on the D.C. market. He says Amazon’s decision to establish a Northern Virginia hub is one reason he’s optimistic that the market will be solid. Amazon is investing $2.5 billion into what it has dubbed National Landing, which will include up to 8 million sq ft of office space for 25,000 employees. “They’re all going to need support projects, from residential to retail to entertainment and infrastructure,” Tievy says.

Consigli is part of a joint venture with Clark Construction Group LLC and Smoot Construction Co. that is renovating the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. The project is the museum’s first major renovation since it opened in 1976.
