Based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, Heartwell most recently served as a senior vice president but has held many positions at the firm, from junior architect to D.C. office leader to global workplace practice leader. Her expertise includes change management, workplace design and mobility strategies for complex organizations.

CRTKL also namedHarold Thompsonits first chief operating officer. Thompson previously served as a vice president at the firm.

Fairfax, Va.-based professional services firm Dewberry namedLarry L. Melton Jr.vice chair of the firm’s board of directors. Melton was appointed to the board in 2019 and has been serving as an independent member. He also will be a member of the board’s executive committee. Before joining Dewberry’s board of directors, Melton spent more than 20 years with Bechtel, where he was a principal vice president and served as design-build project director for the Edmonton Valley Line Light Rail Transit project in Alberta, Canada, and project executive director for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail–Phase 1 in Northern Virginia.

Richmond-based Hourigan has namedBrian Browndirector for its health care division. The project executive at the fully integrated building solutions firm has helped deliver projects ranging from medical office buildings to critical care facilities. Brown, who has been with Hourigan for 16 years, is currently working on the Adult Outpatient Pavilion for VCU Health.
