AP Tops Out Phoenix Rehabilitation Hospital
Adolfson & Peterson Construction recently topped out the superstructure of Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Phoenix. The three-story, 51,000-sq-ft facility will include 48 private patient rooms and two therapy gyms with outdoor therapy areas. The inpatient hospital will care for people with debilitating illnesses and injuries such as strokes and brain injuries as well as other medical, neurological and orthopedic conditions.
American Development and Investment (ADI) is the developer; Callaway Architecture serves as designer; and 2GR Equity is an anchor investor. AP began work in October 2020, and the hospital will open this fall.
NDOT Awards $39M I-515 Viaduct Rehab in Las Vegas
The Nevada Dept. of Transportation has awarded a $38.8-million contract to Las Vegas Paving Corp. to rehab the aging Interstate 515 (U.S. Highway 95) viaduct from I-15 to Eastern Avenue in downtown Las Vegas. The project will repair and overlay the viaduct’s 1.2-million-sq-ft deck between Union Pacific Railroad and 21st Street while also seismically retrofitting some columns. Meanwhile, a new southbound auxiliary lane will be added between I-15 and Eastern Avenue, and the southbound off ramp will be widened to two lanes. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2022.
Skanska’s PM Group Expands Into Ariz. Market
Skanska’s program management and consulting group, Skanska Integrated Solutions (SIS), is entering the Arizona market, joining the company’s long-standing building operations division there. SIS operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Skanska and functions as an independent adviser for clients on building-related challenges that are outside typical general contractor relationships.

Alaska’s Neeser Construction Expands Into Reno-Tahoe
Neeser Construction, a general contracting firm with its roots in Anchorage, has officially expanded into Reno-Tahoe. Neeser first began work in the Reno region in the 1970s, and currently the firm is the only self-performing, design-build contractor for mid-rises and high-rises in the area.
Jerry Neeser, owner of Neeser Construction, moved to Anchorage in 1974, while his brother Michael, operations manager, moved to Reno in 1976. A licensed structural engineer by trade, Michael has led engineering on 50% of the company’s Anchorage projects. He brings his expertise to the Reno-Tahoe market while Jerry continues to lead projects in Alaska.
